If, however, you work as a freelancer, you can do everything your way. You get to keep whatever your clients pay you. And if you work harder, you earn more. You’re independent. But there are literally thousands of others doing exactly the same as you. It’s difficult to focus on your unique expertise and secure a good hourly rate. Besides this, you miss out on colleagues with whom you can spar, work together and socialise. Office space is expensive and so is training. Moreover, doing your own paperwork is a tedious chore.
